Where are you located?

Our farm is just outside Armoy, County Antrim, easy to access from Belfast and Derry directions. Close to Ballycastle, I can’t think of a better day than enjoying some horse-riding followed by an ice-cream on the north coast!

Our address is

38 Coolkeeran Road

Armoy

Ballymoney

BT538XL

Do you have toilets available?

Yes, we have toilets available on ground level

What is the minimum age kids can ride from?

We know those little jockeys can be keen! We can take riders from as young as 4 years old. Unfortunately we can’t take any younger due to insurance. There is no upper age limit as long as you are fit and healthy enough to enjoy the ride!

I have never been on a horse before, is that okay?

There’s no time like the present! We have the perfect experiences to get you started. Our treks are a great introduction to horse riding, taking things at a steady pace but also giving you the opportunity to learn and progress throughout the session

I am an experienced rider, will I get to canter?

Our hacks are exactly what you’re looking for! With plenty of exhilaration and fun, you will enjoy cantering opportunities through the moors and up the hills, with banks to climb for those looking another layer of fun, this is no ordinary hack!

Do you have a weight limit?

Our weight limit is 15.5stone/217lbs/100kg depending on which horses we have available, please let us know if you or a member of your party is over the weight limit when booking and we can discuss.

How do I book?

You have 2 main options:

1. Send a booking request through the website HERE

2. Give us a call on +447759320434, especially if wanting to book within 48 hours.

We will usually request a £10 deposit per person, this may be more for afternoon tea rides but our team will let you know.

I have booked! Now what happens?

Brilliant, we can’t wait to meet you!

Please arrive 30 minutes before your ride time. For example, if your ride is at 3pm, please arrive to our farm at 2:30pm.

When you arrive please check in with us in the office. If you have printed off rider registration forms you can give them to us here, and if not, not to worry, we have forms here in the office for each rider to fill out. You will pay now for your ride, cash or card is fine, and then we will get you suited and booted with a riding helmet and riding boots if you need them. You also have time to pop to the toilet now if needed.

Next you will make your way to our mounting area where you will meet our guides, volunteers, and loyal steeds. Please stay just outside the area until brought in by a member of the team who will introduce you to your horse or pony.

Trekkers:

Once everyone for the ride is mounted you will receive a brief driving lesson to make sure you can find your steering, brakes and the accelerator. Our guides and helpers are more than happy to help if you have any questions.

You will then make your way out onto the trails, through the tree lined lanes, across the streams and through the moorland.

Once your tour of the trails is complete you will enter one of our arenas. Here you will have an opportunity to test your new found skills with some steering challenges, and for everyone happy to give it a go, learn how to trot with the help of our guides. Your ride concludes here and you will finish off back at your starting point, learn how to dismount, get some selfies with your pony and then you are free to return your helmet and boots.

Hackers:

You will all get matched up with your horses and ponies, mounted up and then head to our arena for a short assessment to check that you are comfortable with your horse or pony.

From here you will head out onto the trails for a great time!

What should I wear?

The most important thing is that you are comfortable. Leggings, jeans etc will be fine, close fitting trousers are best. Skirts and dresses won’t work unfortunately! We always recommend wearing some light layers that you can put on and take off as the weather requires. Be prepared for whatever the Irish weather can throw at you! Remember your suncream too for sunny days. Riding boots and helmets are not essential, we have plenty on the farm available to borrow, but if you do have your own, you may find them more comfortable.

What if it rains?

The rain may never be too far away! We ride in all weathers, however, if there is heavy rain we can organise an alternative experience to remain within our indoor arenas, replacing the outdoor trek with indoor games and fun on horseback.

Do you do adult riding lessons?

We do indeed! We know it can be less daunting learning alongside other adults so we have lessons just for adults, some mixed lessons of adults and kids, and some just for kids. It is a wonderful way to meet new friends, and our adult lessons are always great craic and very supportive of each other.

I'm a mum with some free time while the kids are at school, got anything for me?

We have just the thing- Mum Hacks! Our Mum Hacks group is a fun group of mum with kids ranging from babies and toddlers up to adults. The goal of this group is to connect mums with each other while enjoying time for themselves, trekking or hacking through the farm with both groups taking time together for tea and coffee and a good chat. This group just keeps getting better and bigger and new members are welcome any time. The group meets once or twice a month on Friday mornings. If you’re interested in joining send us an email and we can get you all the details.

Do you do beach rides?

We offer coastal rides through our sister-site Bespoke Equestrian Ireland. Ranging from a half day beach ride up to 12 day horseback tours of Ireland, we have plenty to offer! Check out all of our coastal rides options here:  Bespoke Equestrian Ireland | Horse Riding in Ireland | Equestrian Vacations
